Well done the BNP will become a member next week.

Sounds very much like a threat from Giles, above. Yes, I'm very pleased the BNP is making progress in my part of the country. At last people are being given the chance to vote for a real alternative to the corrupt bunch that are ruining this country.

I would have vote for the BNP unfortunately there was no candidate - so please stand one in my are soon!

The vast majority of society know what the BNP is and what they stand for- a lot of the xenophobic nonsense they have within their manifesto is inciteful and myopic. However, providing they stick within the law, they should be allowed to advise on whatever policies they like. If people don't like it, they don't get elected. Simple as that- I don't like BNP's views, but nor do I like the 3 "mainstream" parties peddling lies about [italic]benefits[/italic] of EU membership or hearing hypicritical waffle about becoming more green and reducing climate change. There is too much political correctness & censorship as there is so, although I would never vote for the BNP, to claim they shouldn't have a voice is probably worse than [italic]choosing[/italic] not to listen to them....

The comment from Giles refers to a post, now removed, which from someone who had clearly never bothered to read the BNP policies nor did they believe in democracy, ie only those they agreed with may stand.

I've just had a very inoffensive anti-BNP post removed without explanation. I've no idea what's going on with the people who monitor the Gazette website. Very odd indeed.

If you think supporting a racist pre-neanderthal party will improve matters then, although I support your ability to have a choice, I think you are bonkers. Mr Butler hit another point there by mentioning that Colchester and Clacton are full of Londoners that have escaped "problems" in the capital. Perhaps there should be an Anglian Regional Party that thinks Londoners shouldn't be allowed to move to this region. I mean the region is nearly at bursting point and these Londoners are taking our jobs. The cockneys come in large numbers and are quite happy to claim social security. And once one family of Londoners moves in they take over the street. What with their funny accents,strange clothing (tracksuits mainly) and propensity to cause an increase in local crime. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only East Anglian in my neighbourhood nowadays. So there you go, how would you like it if you weren't allowed to move to a new area to escape crime or worse? Huh? There's no difference between someone moving from Poland to start a new life, than when a family move to a different part of Britain. Well, apart from the fact that foreign migrants generally tend to keep themselves to themselves and don't like stone-cladding. So vote for the Anglia Regional Party. Let's keep Anglia Anglian and stop those who don't understand the culture and the history out. See, it's not quite so nice when the boot is on the other foot and perhaps you'll think about that when you're considering putting an 'X' next to the name of a BNP representative.

I have voted for Labour in the past but I feel that they have left the working down over the past 10 years. The rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer. Gordon Brown has tried to screw poor working class people with the abolishon of the 10% rate. I also hate tax credits - why should I have to fill in forms to get tax back that should never have been taken from me. I visited the BNP website www.bnp.org.uk and I was very surpised by their very good manifesto. I have now decided to vote BNP in future as they offer many of the things that I want in their manifesto: 1) A reduced, simplified and flat rate tax system. 2) Raise tax free allowance to £15,000 3) Withdrawl from the European Union 4) Renationalisation of Gas, Water, Electricity and British Rail 5) Protection for British farming and manufacturing.

Heartily agree with Mr Smythe of Wivenhoe. Not only do Londoners dress funny but they also stink and walk around with vicious dogs because they're such cowards

Gideon Smythe, Wivenhoe sounds a bit disturbed. I am not a BNP supporter but to suggest that Londoners are the same as Poles is a bit of stretch and very offensive to Londoners. Is Gideon Smythe the sad and unwanted result of a cloning experiment that went badly wrong?

Steve, I agree with points 1, 2, 4 and 5. But unfortunately the BNP is run by people with a racist agenda. It's obvious that they will pad-out their manifesto with a few juicy carrots to dangle under the noses of floating voters. But they should be approached with extreme caution. The reason I don't agree with point 3 is; have you been to mainland Europe recently? It's cleaner, friendlier, the public transport runs on time, taxation is lower, crime is lower, they get more bank holidays than us, the kids are well educated and respectful of their elders and you can still find a butchers, greengrocers and those old-fashioned things called bakeries in most high streets. All of the European countries in the EU have kept their identity but have forged closer ties. If it's the pound you're worrying about, I thought the standard currency in Essex was the VISA nowadays.

Cockney Tim. Yes I am, but I don't really want to talk about it. And, you've missed my point. I love Londoners, Poles, French, Africans, human beings in general. The only people I don't like is those that judge others based on colour, race and religion. Don't forget, 500 years ago most of our families lived in France, Holland, Germany, Norway. In fact most of us are immigrants. So remember that next time you want the borders shut. This isn't OUR country, it's A country.

I apprciate your point of view Gideon however I don't but the whole EU con trick. I voted for Labour through thick and thin for the best part of 40 years. I am fearful for the effects that immigration has had on Britain. I am fearful for the effects of this immigration on the future wellbeing of my children and grand children. Labour and the other parties claim they listen but they don't and that is why I have decided to vote BNP. It is still a free country. Drugs, knife-crime, chavs boozing in the parks- they are all from nice white families. How come? I lived in London for over 20 years and the schools my children went to ( very mixed )were far acedemically ahead of the generally not-mixed race schools they now attend in clacton. How come? Have any of you traced your family tree back beyond the immediate family you know? It's all quite laughable. But very sad.

Jacqui, good point. I personally think that racism is the preserve of the lazy and insecure. I'm sick of it and can only see things getting worse if our doorsteps are darkened by the BNP. When are we going to get away from extremist parties present Government included. I must admit that I have only seen Boris Johnson on “Have I Got News For You” Not impressed and he is to stay as an M.P.? I remember not so long ago Trevor Phillips was a reporter on London ITV. There should be a party that stands for equality throughout society and for that you have got to get rid of value mainly money. While you have value and a very materialist society you will have greed and envy, which is the ruin of us all.

And my Dad was from an east -end docker family, so poor he had to pick up veg from chapel street market at the end of the day as a kid to help feed his family- and he was PROUD of the fact the the black shirts were stopped from marching in the east end in 1936! He never forgot that working-class people got together to oppose the evil of racism ...Shame on you!

Mark Thorn, you need help. Do you seriously think that mixing people of different skin colours will cause civilisation as we know it to come to an end? If so, why? As for your opening assertion, the country as a whole is generally a multicultural success. I'm constantly staggered that it's those least exposed to multiculturalism (people living in places like Colchester), that seem to make the biggest noise about it's apparently damaging effect. Why on earth should I be afraid of my neighbour whatever he looks like, sounds like or acts like, just so long as he's no threat to me? For gods sake sort yourself out.

I do not understand what people are so afraid of. People have always emigrated to other countries - it's human nature! If you are white and 'English' the probability is that you are actually of Danish, Italian, Dutch, German, Irish, Welsh, French, Scotish or Norwegian blood. Yes, you're right Mr Thorn. All foreigners (particularly the dark skinned ones)are responsible for drug wars, rape and murder. It's a living hell here now, in fact I'm thinking of emigrating to Spain with a suitcase full of sleaveless T-shirts and union jack emblazoned bermuda shorts. Leaving aside the rather inconvenient fact that violent crime is going down rather than up, I only hope that you're not now (or ever intend to be) a serving policeman. Finally I'd like to correct your assumption that I'm a friend of Mr and Mrs Gideon - the only things we have in common as far as I'm aware is our place of residence and our capacity for reasoned thought. Incidentally I've lived in a number of places that have experienced large scale immigration (Birmingham, East London and Sheffield). No it wasn't Nirvana (nowhere is), but that had nothing to do with the ethnic make up of the population. Live and learn Mark.

If Mark Thorn says that non-english people are responsible for most of the crime in his area then it is probably true. It may be rude of him to say so but the truth sometimes is a rude thing, but it shouldn't be silenced for fear of offending someone. Things may be different in other places but Mark has the right to comment on his own experiences.
