Some women wear the trousers in their relationships - but Linda Hempstead will be wearing them on her wedding day, too.

The 61-year-old of Fern Way, Jaywick, is holding a mock wedding with her friend, Roy Evans, in aid of charity, where she will don a suit and he will be dressed to the nines in a big white frock.

Linda, who volunteers with Roy at the over-60s club at Golf Green Hall in Jaywick, came up with the idea of the wedding when she jokingly proposed to him on February 29.

Ha ha ha! Ooooooooh, that's just so funny. It's like the woman will be dressed as a man and the man will be dressed as a woman instead of the other way round. Brilliant! Just brilliant!

I'm sure I read about this story in this month's 'Over 60s Cross Dressing Wedding Digest'.

Maybe she's a bunny boiler and came up with this cunning wheeze to snare Roy?

You know, on this occasion, I'm agreeing with 'Norm'. Lazy journalism, with not even a mention of the charity this ... err... 'event' is in aid of....

Basics.... who, where, WHAT, WHY & WHEN.

HELP ME PLEASE! I am being held against my will in Fern Way Jaywick and forced into a sham wedding with a crazy woman called Linda who makes me dress up as a woman. PLEASE HELP ME!

I thought Roy Evans was married to Pat Evans and lived in Albert Square, Walford. Wow, maybe he faked his death to get away from Pat and start a new life dressed as a woman with Linda in Jaywick.

This is all entering a surreal Dali-esque world of intrigue.

Cross-dressing, Eastenders characters become real, contrived marriage & death faking.... Don't tell me that Den Watts is the vicar...

Me and Spike did a similar thing, except we both dressed up as Brides. Then Peggy dressed up as a man, and pushed us in the swimming pool.

Later that day, Ken Shabby won the knobbly knees contest, and Colin McTavish won the hairiest dog competition with his dog Quasimodo.

Hi-De-Hi campers.

Police pulling over cars all over town today, yet the best the gazette can come up with is a story about some cross dressing weirdos in Jaywick! IF you are the person at the gazette taking a wage for posting this rubbish perhap you'd be so good as to put your name to it!
