A MEMORIAL fund for a corporal from the Parachute Regiment has been given a boost from a sponsored walk.
Jason Green, of Clacton, completed the ten-mile hike carrying 30lb kit from Thorrington to 3 Para's headquarters in Colchester.
Mr Green said he has always had an interest in the Army, particularly the Parachute Regiment.
The walk was in aid of the Bryan Budd Memorial Fund. Corporal Budd, of 3 Para, died in 2006 during a contact with the Taliban in southern Afghanistan.
His gallantry saved the lives of many colleagues and he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross.
