Jamie Guy wants to quit Colchester United.

Having burst on to the scene in the U's inaugural season in the Coca-Cola Championship, the 20-year-old did not start a single game for the club during the last campaign.

And it now seems he feels his future lies away from north Essex.

Guy was yesterday banned from driving for 12 months and fined £400 and £75 costs after admitting charges of drink-driving and driving without insurance or a licence.

He was also fined £350 with £75 costs after admitting threatening behaviour, following a play-fight' in a Colchester car park.

Speaking outside Colchester Magistrates Court, Guy said: "I'm upset about what's happened, and it won't be happening again.

"I haven't really spoken to the club about it. I do not see myself at the club after this and I am looking to get away for a fresh start."

Guy's willingness to move to pastures new may interest the likes of Crewe Alexandra, who had been linked with a move for the striker last month.

Colchester manager Geraint Williams had earlier this summer gone on record stating his intention to keep the young striker.

Guy managed only a dozen substitute appearances for the first-team but injury played havoc with his season.

He was set to go out on loan in the January transfer window, but any move was scuppered by a troublesome Achilles injury.

U's boss Williams said: "The club do not condone Jamie's behaviour but has been sympathetic to his position and we will speak to him with a view to the best outcome for both Jamie and for the club."

drink driving, no insurance and no licence is more than being silly. Now he wants to continues his irresponsibility by walking away from the club. Seems he not serious and getting caught hasn't change his attitude.

Having watched colu away to ipswich and travelling back and seeing jamie guy coming out of yates sums his attitude up.
He needs to play for nothing and get back into the real world.
At the moment he couldn't trap wind let alone a ball. Crewe castle park kickabout more like !

This Guy (sorry) is a scumbag. I have seen him out on the Town on numerous occasions and he thinks he is someone special. He has a stinking attitude but I think he has got in with the wrong crowd. He is always out with non footballers who dont appear to work at all. He lives in Mill Street, New Town which suggests he does"nt get paid very much but he throws it around in the pubs. (Mormally Edwards). A move away would do him good but I cant see who would want him. To me he is only Blue Square standard. First though he needs to work on his attitude and lose his chavvy mates.

I seem to recall last Xmas and New Year's Eve ,Clacton's cells were full of drunken scumbags........all shipped from Colchester because your town's cells were already full.

Sort your own chav scum out.

Easy way out. I saw him some time ago and he was sooooooooo cocky and very immature. He has the wrong attitude to the game and the club. Get rid, he doesn't deserve the glory or the chances to go anywhere in football. I am a season ticket holder and I don't pay my money to have an idiot like him at the club

Try telling that to the family who had their children killed by Plymouth keeper Luke McCormick.

Jamie Guy had a friend a while ago killed by someone who was drink driving, which makes his actions even more unforgivable if thats possible.

He's already been in trouble very recently, and if Phil Parkinson had still been here he would have been out of the exit door before he knew what hit him, just ask Rowan Vine and Dean Morgan who were booted out of the club for much less. PP would certainly not be "sympathetic to his position".

king tractor - if p*** pot clubs are not welcome in the top division, looks like it's league one football for the season after next. Must be a real shock for teams turning up in Ipsh*t, having to dodge the parked tractors and mounds of carrots (left by the 6 fingered in-breds) outside Portman Road.

On a more serious note, totally agree with Jason's comments - if PP had still been in charge, Guy wouldn't have been treated with kid gloves. Get rid of Guy as soon as poosible!!

Jamie Guy is a moronic thug who can be found littering the bars of Colchester giving it Charlie-big-potatoes
. He's finally getting his comeuppance and any club worth their salt wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. I reckon it's the end of a poor career for a lad who perhaps once had a bit of talent.

Unfortunately, he believed his own hype and p*ssed it up the wall. WASTER.
