A PROLIFIC shoplifter who stole hundreds of pounds worth of items from a Co-op in just a few weeks has been jailed.
Jason Glasgow, 36 of Arnold Drive, Colchester appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on April 18 after an investigation by the city's Local Policing Team.
Glasgow was arrested the day prior in connection with multiple thefts which occurred at the Co-op in Hawthorne Avenue.
The offences occurred between March 15 and April 9, where more than £400 worth of food and drink was stolen.
He was charged with nine counts of theft from a shop.
After admitting the charges, Glasgow was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.
He was also ordered to pay £1,158.84 in compensation.
